Timaya not ready to marry his baby mama

Days after his lover, Barbara, put to bed a baby girl, dancehall star, Enetimi ‘Timaya’ Odom, has disclosed that as much as he loves and cherishes baby and mother, he is not thinking of getting married to her or any other woman yet.
Speaking exclusively with E-Punch on Monday morning, an excited Timaya says, “I wanted to have a baby by Barbara because she is my kind of woman; the kind of woman I’d like to spend the rest of my life with and this was why I decided from the outset that I’d go the whole hog with her. But she knows that marriage is not something we will dabble into now.”
A few hours earlier, the Dem Mama SoldierRecords boss had sent blogosphere agog after tweeting, “Wow i am now a father, thank you Jehovah for the birth of my cute daughter.” Congratulations poured forth for him. Time was then 9am. And the excitement had not worn off. His eyes were bloodshot and had bags under them but he was not sleepy. “I didn’t sleep all night. I was just pacing up and down the hallway and praying that she had a safe delivery,” he says. His prayers were answered because the birth was without complications of any sort. Thus, Timaya reveals that his baby’s name shall be Emmanuella Perere Timaya. “I’m building my own dynasty which is why my baby and the other ones that would come after her would bear Timaya as their surname not Odom,” he adds.
He was clearly avoiding talks about marriage but when E-Punch threw it up again, his mien dissolved into a more introspective one. With a distant look in his eyes, he says, “Marriage comes with a lot of responsibilities which are beyond financial or material things. God has blessed me with everything a man needs to have a successful married life and you can bet that Emmanuella and Barbara will get the best of everything money can buy but personally, I don’t feel ready for it.”
He notes that he is at a point in his career where he has to muster all his talent and youth to remain a top-of-the-mind brand. “The music industry is growing bigger by the day and very soon, indolent artistes would be swept to the background. I don’t want to be a yesterday star; neither do I want to end up being a fleeting star, I want to continue being relevant. That is why I am putting my everything into music and God is blessing the work of my hands.”
The singer and dark-skinned, curvaceous Barbara, a budding actress, have been relating for over two years before the baby came. Close sources say so in love with Barbara is Timaya that when she told him about the pregnancy late last year, he was beside himself with joy. Thereafter, he got her a well-appointed apartment in the heart of Ikeja and bought her a GL Fomatic 450 Benz valued at about N13m.
