After two adjournments due to the absence of the suspected key actors in the oil subsidy fraud, the trial of the accused persons was finally kick-started today at a Lagos High Court.
At the end of today’s proceedings, the trial judge granted a bail of 20million Naira to Mahmud Tukur, son of Bamanga Tukur, chairman of the ruling People’s Democratic Party alongside other co-accused persons, Ochonogor Alex and Abdullahi Alao. Trial of their case was fixed for November 13.
The judge also granted bail to another batch of subsidy fraud suspects which included Mamman Nasir Ali, son of Ahmadu Ali, former chairman of the PDP, and Christian Taylor. Their own day in court would be October 30.
