Looking ghostly ... Lindsay Lohan in courtRex |
The 25-year-old actress has been ordered to do 16 hours of community service in Los Angeles before her next court hearing on November 2. Coroner's office sources said her tasks include cleaning body parts and fluids on autopsy tables. She will also clean up toilets and rubbish but will not handle bodies, US reports said.
Judge Stephanie Sautner told the star, who looked ghoulish with dark eyes in court: "It's an eight-hour shift. You show up and do what they tell you to do." Lohan must fulfil all 16 hours in the next two weeks to have a chance of avoiding up to 18 months' jail for repeatedly breaking probation terms.
They relate to a 2007 drink-driving conviction and necklace theft earlier this year. But she got off to a bad start yesterday, turning up for work 40 minutes late and being sent away.
Her spokesman blamed "a combination of not knowing the entrance and confusion caused by the waiting media". The Mean Girls star tweeted later: "I'm sorry for the confusion that I may of caused. Won't happen again, now I know where to go!"
