| Prostitutes arrested at the brothel in Akute |
A popular brothel owner in Akute area has been arrested by the police in Ogun State for allegedly engaging teenagers in prostitution. The brothel was also said to be used as hideout for criminals said to be terrorizing the area . Illegal activities at the brothel was brought to the open following a recent raid on it by policemen attached to Ajuwon division, personally led by the Divisional Police Officer, Mr Isukekhe Oisamaye.
Fourteen teenagers whose ages were between 13 and 18, according to the command’s spokesman, Mr Olumuyiwa Adejobi, were arrested in the brothel, where upon interrogation, some of them claimed they were forced into the ancient profession by a man they simply gave his name as Baba.
The teenagers, he informed, would be handed over to the National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other related Matters (NAPTIP) for necessary action.
