Samson Siasia Sacked!
The Head Coach of the Super Eagles Samson Siasia has been relieved of his job. The decision was finally taken at a meeting which held in Abuja on Friday and the Executive Committee adopted the Technical Committee’s recommendation that Siasia should be sacked for failing to meet the terms of his contract and that the penalty clause in the contract should be respected. Although the house was hotly split down the middle as to whether they should retain Siasia or not, the majority eventually voted for his immediate removal. Siasia, who was a popular choice of Nigerian fans after Swede handler, Lars Lagerback couldn’t lead the Eagles beyond the first round at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, spent only 11 months at the helm and fell out of favour after his wards were held to a 2-2 draw by Syli National of Guinea, a result that knocked Nigeria out of the Nations Cup, the first tie in 26 years.
