Akara (Bean cake)



Ingredients
*Beans
*Chili pepper
*Red bell pepper
*Onions
*Garlic
*Warm water
*Salt 
*Vegetable oil
*Seasoning

Procedure
-Soak the beans in water for like 5mins or less
-Peal the skin off the beans by rubbing them between your hands and rinsing to allow the skins to float to the top.
-Sieve the skin out leaving the white peas behind making sure u drain thoroughly
-In a food processor, blend the beans with tatashe(Red bell pepper), Chilli pepper(Shombo), onions, garlic into a smooth paste.
-Put the mixture in a large bowl and add Salt, Seasoning, a little warm water to make it light and gradually stir with a wooden spoon until you have a smooth paste.
-Pour the vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat
-Spoon the mixture into the sizzling oil to form balls and fry until golden brown making sure you flip frequently on each side.
-Remove balls and drain on absorbent kitchen paper.
-Serve with Hot sauce as an appetizer or with pap(Ogi/Akamu) as a meal
