Kano Residents React to Failed Attack on Mosque

Reactions have started to trail the discovery of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planted by terrorists at a popular mosque in Kano last Friday.
Kano residents said it was a calculated attempt by the terrorits to cause bloodshed, adding that their aim was to kill innocent people who had come to worship Allah.
The residents said the collective prayers of both Muslims and Christians in the state exposed the trick of the hoodlums and rendered their evil scheme fruitless.
A resident, who refused to disclose his identity, told us that, ‘We have to thank Allah that the IEDs planted at Fagge Mosque was uncovered before it was detonated. The mosque is popular in Kano, because it is often frequented by thousands of Muslims in Kano who always come around to offer prayers to Allah. If the bombs had been detonated, we would have started counting our losses by now.”
The residents, therefore, showered encomiums on men of the Joint Task Force (JTF) for rising up to the situation. Written by Kola Oyelere, Kano
